REVIEW - Hard to Catch (The Beast of Baseball #3) by Alice Ward

The Book
Release Date: 9 February 2017
Goodreads Link

This is the third sexy STANDALONE novel in Bestselling Author Alice Ward's brand new sports romance series, The Beasts of Baseball.

Todd Morris
I couldn’t imagine anything worse than being traded from the Mets — until the day I’m traded to the Beasts. Now I’m catching for Calvin Malone, their star pitcher. Star pretty boy. Star pain in my ass. The tension between us is thick. All over a girl. Whitney. The woman I deserve. Not him.

If that’s not bad enough, I learn that my reputation as an adrenaline junkie, a daredevil, a risk taker has landed me a babysitter during spring training. I have to admit... Katrina Delaney is hot. Not only is she damn fine to look at, she’s the daughter of a baseball legend. And mysterious. She’s hiding something beneath that social media perfection. But what? I want to find out.

Katrina Delaney
Good ole’ dad, Bobby "Spaceman" Delaney. He did it this time. Our family fortune is being sold to the highest bidder while I try to figure out how to survive on my own. Sure, I’m twenty-three, old enough to handle my own life. But I’ve never had to. Daddy has always handled everything — until now.

Thank God for Rhett Hamilton, my savior. An amazing job opportunity as the social media manager for the Beasts is my new lease on life, my beginning, my chance to prove I can do it on my own. I’ve spent my entire life around baseball players, so it’s a perfect fit. The only thing that’s changed is how I look at these men. As a girl, I’d neglected to appreciate their rugged good looks, hard bodies, and wickedly sexy demeanor. As a woman, I’m appreciating plenty, especially the new catcher Todd Morris. But his deep blue eyes seem to see right through me. To the real me. To my secrets.

NOTE: The Beasts of Baseball series follows the sexy exploits of the players on the baseball team The Beasts, and the women they love. Each book can be read as a standalone and features a heart twisting HEA with No Cliffhanger.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the first book that i have read by this author and can definitely be read as a stand alone book.

It took me a few chapters to get into the authors style of writing, but after that i was absorbed into the story and really enjoyed it.

Both characters seemed well rounded and i felt their emotions, and you never felt like Katrina looked down on being suddenly in a poor situation.

Both characters had a maturity to them, although at times they did at foolishly, but both restored their character with how they overcame their obstacles and when Todd fought for what he wanted.

This book also made me want to read the first two books in this series.

REVIEW - Royal Stripper ( A Secret Baby Romance) by Sienna Valentine

The Book
Release Date: 8 February 2017
Goodreads Link

It seemed like the perfect cover. Crown Prince or not, I was tired of all of the pressures back home. Get married. Start a family. Ensure the royal bloodline remained intact. Do your duty. It was too much stress and almost led me to trusting the wrong woman. It would have been a catastrophic mistake, and one that I vowed never to make again. So I escaped to America and found a job that ensured I would stay surrounded by beautiful, horny women that wanted nothing more than to have a good time with no expectations about anything long term. Everyone got what they wanted. I was like the Robin Hood of sexual desire, doling it out to those in need. Like I said, it was the perfect plan. Until I met Ally.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the first book that i have read by this author and with a male stripper and a librarian, you may think this has been done before, however, have you read about the royal stripper and the librarian?

Matthias is a crown prince escaping his future in America, a place where it is easy to be lost with his bodyguard and to feel right at home he lives in a not so nice area and gets a job as a stripper in order to meet woman who are not out for his money.

Ally is at a bachelorette party and spies Matthias.  He is not the type she goes for but the charisma is there and she is pulled to him even if she doesn't want to be.

Its a good read where the male character finds that he has to chase the woman for a change and secrets are kept, then exposed.

Certainly will not be my last book by this author.

REVIEW - Meant For You by Lili Valente

The Book
Release Date: 14 February 2017
Goodreads Link

What if there was one man—one gorgeous, brilliant, sexy as hell man—who was meant for you?

Yeah, well, there isn’t. Love is a hard slog up a snowy mountain infested with rabid cougars, and meant-to-be love is just a lie. I learned that the hard way when all my romantic dreams went up in smoke, and the boy I loved walked away without looking back.

Or so I thought…

***

Seven years ago Fate ripped me away from the only girl I’ve ever loved. Now Addie and I are snowed in at a romantic mountain lodge, drinking cocoa around the Valentine’s Day tree, and there’s no way I’m going to let her slip away from me again.

One way or another, I’ll prove to Adeline that we belong together.

She might not believe in love, but I do, and I’m going to use every sexy, wicked weapon at my disposal to convince my girl we’re meant to be.

The best part of trying to win the one who got away? I know exactly what makes her laugh, what makes her melt, and what makes her squirm…

MEANT FOR YOU is a sexy, swoony, true love conquers all Standalone romantic comedy.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is another brilliant instalment from the Magnificent Bastard Consulting world and Adeline has been mentioned in previous books, especially as she is a good friend of Shane from the previous book.

These books can be read as a stand alone book, however reading the previous books does help with a little background knowledge into the other scantly mentioned other characters.

It is an extremely fast read that you cannot help but keep turning the pages and seeing what is going to happen next into this spooky Valentines Tale that will have you smiling and cursing.

Sometimes life gets in the way of your life, but when life gives you a second chance, take it.

REVIEW - A Princess for a Bride by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 8 February 2017
Goodreads Link

I was born the middle princess of a tiny country in the Alps, which means my primary duty in life has always been to make a good marriage for my family and country. That's why I'm marrying Edward Channing. He's rich, handsome, arrogant, and silent.

Seriously, he almost never talks to me at all.

He might be marrying a princess, but he obviously doesn't want to spend any more time with me than he has to. I have no problem with that. We can live entirely different lives and pursue our own interests. I'm sure we can make this arranged marriage work.

Of course, we do need to produce an heir, but I'm trying not to think about that.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the second book in the Rothman Royals series and was just as good as the first.

The story focus on the record daughter of the Rothmans and starts from her wedding day, an arranged marriage in order that the Rothmans can add a little cash flow into their lives.

As expected there is no initial love from our main lady, however as they get to know each other the feelings between them change and take a different road.

Both characters realise that they did not know each other properly, however they both like what they find, especially ....... who realises that .... was not the man she thought that he was.  He was so much better.

A really sweet read that had me so happy that they got their HEA.

Looking forward to the third and final instalment of the series and we may well have had a little taster as to who the love interest may be :)

REVIEW - Lumberjacked by Alexandria Hunt

The Book
Release Date: 18 January 2017
Goodreads Link

Aaron Remington
I needed the money. That’s the only reason I ever signed up for that stupid reality TV show. I wasn’t looking for a wife, I wasn’t looking for love, and I certainly wasn’t interested in any of the bimbo contestants they picked out for me.

I was set to live with ten girls in a mountain retreat near my hometown in Alaska for a month. I was supposed to fake it until I found my “bride”, film the final episode, and walk away a free man with a hundred grand cash in my pocket.

Just enough to pay the back taxes owed on my family’s lumber mill and keep running things for them.

But I hadn’t counted on meeting her. A slick Hollywood TV producer who somehow managed to steal my heart, mess up my plans, and bumble the entire thing by being infuriating and so goddamned irresistible.

Reagan Black
I needed this job so bad I could do anything for it. So what if it was taking place in some dirty little town in the middle of no man’s land, Alaska? Who cares if it meant leaving my life and friends and LA behind for a month?

I had to prove that I could do this on my own and succeed not just because my daddy was Pavel Black, the biggest movie producer Hollywood had ever seen.

What I didn’t expect was to find myself out there in the middle of the woods in the strong, muscled arms of a big, bearded lumberjack.

And I never expected to be put in a position where I had to choose between the maddeningly sexy star of our hit show and the career I had always wanted.

Can love win?

**This is a full-length (56,000 words) standalone happy ever after. That being said, it also contains angst, some humor, a cute little dog, a hot alpha lumberjack, an uptight LA princess and some pretty steamy sex scenes...so it's best left to those 18+.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a cute read and i really enjoyed it.

We have a bearded, muscled lumberjack who is only in LA to get the money that his little brother owes to him and a producer who's last show completely flopped and desperately needs a hit show to propel her career and gain her fathers approval.

Right from the start there is a magnetic pull of lust and attraction, but takes a while before both of them finally do anything about it other than just flirting.

They are worlds apart from each other but they just mesh well.  One brought up in LA in a rich household while the other is now managing a lumber mill.

This is the first book that i have read from this author, but i have a feeling that it will not be my last.

My Opinion 5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is another brilliant book in the series and i have been waiting for Gabe's story right from the beginning.

There is humour, angst, pain and happy endings along with a family that are finding that they are stronger than they think, both individually and as a unit.

The family again show how they support one another in a time of need which is heart warming and we see more of previous characters that we are learning more of.

I can't wait for the next story which i am guessing will be Cord's as we saw a lot more from him in this book.

 My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the ending to the series and there are so many twists and turns that you never know what is going to happen next.

I love that Mia stays strong through out and keeps going no matter how things seem to be against her and that she and Taddy are strong characters.

Mimi has a writing genius that is all her own which just sucks you into the story, i had to keep turning the pages until the book was finished.

I'm glad that they got their HEA even if it was no where near that i had imagined.

A must read series.

REVIEW - Uncensored (The Manhattanites #7) by Avery Aster

The Book
Release Date: 12 January 2017
Goodreads Link

Fans of J. Kenner, Meredith Wild, Kirstin Ashley, and Christina Lauren will enjoy this hilarious and naughty, full-length, stand-alone, cliffhanger free, m/f contemporary erotic romance novel from New York Times Bestselling Author Avery Aster.

Sobriety is in vogue this season when Debauchery magazine founder Vive Farnworth trades in her Park Avenue mansion for a halfway house. Enjoying “therapy” on a tomato farm she relearns how to live. Her focus on fruit soon ripens when a new roommate moves in. He’s dominant and challenging, and she swears his orgasm-enducing body looks familiar. Then again, her memory is one gin martini blur.

Stripped of his Olympic gold medal, Roddick “The Grunt” Beckstrong was the #1 professional tennis player in the world until a certain news outlet exposed him for doping to enhance his performance. After losing custody of his son to his ex-wife, along with sixty-five million dollars, he’s out for revenge against the owner of the tabloid that ruined his life—Debauchery.

To destroy his nemesis…he’ll entice her mind, seduce her soul and satiate her body’s lust. Then he’ll publicly humiliate her! Falling in all-consuming love along the way wasn’t part of his plan, but it happens. When Vive learns of Roddick’s motives, she ups the ante with the one thing he hadn’t obliterated, her heart. It’s a vengeance that he never saw coming. Whoever stays sober the longest may win something their fame and fortunes never gave them before—a chance at happiness.

My Opinion  3 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Avery Aster for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a sexy as hell novella that finds Vive Farnsworth coming out of rehab and into a half way house where she finds her happily ever after.

I managed to read this novella in an hour, but i am a fast reader.

As a bonus story, you also get the first Manhattanites book Unscrupulous as a free read, which is great unless you have already been following the series and have already read it.

I was a little disappointed that this was such a short length novella, and felt that Vive was getting a little screwed over in the book department, especially as Lex and Taddy both got full length books.

On the whole though it is brilliantly written in the authors dirty, fast and witty way.  Just a little too short for me.

Familiar with Sister Wives Kiki wonders if it's time to try her hand at Brother-Husbands!

Note: the men DO NOT touch one another.

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a very fast paced book that may have some language that may be offensive to some, but  then if you are this far into the series then you already know this.

Kiki is a good girl, honest and at times very innocent, but having the manhattanites as her friends has opened her eyes to so many things.

Two years have happened since Dejon and Kiki first met and now so close to their wedding things take a twist that neither of them expected.

Love the fact that Kiki takes her mormon upbringing and turns it around to her advantage in order that she can have two husbands instead of being just another wife to one man.

Although the plot on this book is good, it felt a little rushed, especially at the end which was a little disappointing, however the story was still good.

Both characters met before in the past when the Princess ends up in trouble with her past lover as her protector.  Of course the past comes rushing back as does the emotions and feelings.

Her new employer, HRH Prince Ronan, aka her mystery summer lover of long ago, seems determined to pick up where they left off. Can Brenna work in the royal palace and not end up with a brand new broken heart?

My Opinion  4 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is an author that i have not read before and was pleasantly surprised.

The only thing that really pulled this book down for me is that it did not have an epilogue to finish a little while later as i really wanted to know a little more about them.

Brenna is a hard working woman who has loved and lost in the fact that the man ran off, and she has made one bad decision which comes back to pinch her in the butt.

Ronan is the rogue Prince, however he is there and supportive when he needs to.  Ronan has also never forgotten about the girl that he spent three months with and thinks that he will never end up married.

I loved all of the characters and hope that Willow and Emory get a book either together or eaters they too need their stories told.

Until an unexpectedly royal revelation threatens to strip Jed of his freedom and future – including his place by Dee’s side.

My Opinion  4 STARS

**My thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is a quick short read, especially if you read fast like me.

You are provided with a prologue from when the characters are teenagers and best friends fighting sexual desire, then you are transported to modern day followed by an epilogue to tie up the ending.

Dee is a character that lets you know exactly how she is feeling and only as an adult has been able to exert caution over her words.  She also trusts Jed enough that she instantly travels half way across the world just to support him in meeting the man that says that he is Jed's dad.

Jed has travelled all over the place, but finally managed to settle down eight years ago, much to the annoyance of his mother.  But unbeknownst to him, his mother has been keeping a very big secret from him.

I really enjoyed this book, but wish it had been a little longer.

Rules require him to marry nobility, but after he meets the uptight American sent to find him find a princess bride, his search for Cinderella might be over. Too bad Emily wants nothing to do with him. Perhaps he can show her that fairytale endings can happen in real life…

My Opinion 4 STARS

**My thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is quite a sweet book that is very clean with just some sexual innuendo and a little kissing.

Emily works hard to get where she wants and currently she wants to be named as a partner.  But that title has so far eluded her no matter how hard she tries.

Prince Luc is the youngest son who has also been named as the trouble maker and scapegoat.  He is resigned to his reputation, but must marry or lose the money he needs for his foundation.

Both have had hardship in their lives and find themselves inexplicitly drawn to each other right from the beginning.

Its a heartwarming cinderella story re-woven with the required HEA.

My Opinion 5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the last book in the series and cannot really be read as a stand alone book as it closes all the loose ends up.

Jackie has you riveted to the pages as you see why and how Theo Fitzgerald became Jericho and how all the characters get the end result that they have worked toward.

At times i felt sorry for both Temple and Theo as both have been through a lot to get to the ending that they have been working towards for most of their adult lives.

The book did not have too many twists and turns and i was sorry that this was the end of the series.

REVIEW - Loving the Babysitter by Cassandra Dee

The Book
Release Date: 4 January 2017
Goodreads Link

She was good with kids, and the alpha male wanted more babies …

I’ve known Mandy Smith for years now, ever since she started coming over to babysit my daughter. Back then, Mandy was a gangly teen with buckteeth and braces, someone I barely noticed. But something’s changed since she was away at college.

The braces came off.

The brunette got contacts.

And holy hell, but the girl developed curves …

Because I’ve been divorced for years now, and my gorgeous babysitter would be the perfect mommy for more children – our children!

Note: This is a sexy, smutty romance that will make your cheeks burn and your panties melt! Guaranteed HEA. This book contains the bonus novella Double Massive for a limited time.

My Opinion  3.5 STARS
This would be classed a a taboo book where eighteen year old Mandy Smith has gone to babysit little Violet, only for find that nearly forty year old Pete Parker has divorced from his wife and both find that there is an instant attraction to the other that was not mutually there before.

The story moves along quickly and you find that Mandy actually seems very mature for her age, and Pete being a red blooded male finds that the attraction is just far too strong to ignore.

It's a fast read and the HEA had me smiling at the two and how they are still very much compatible all those years later.

They don’t call it the Strip for nothing. . . .

In this sinfully sexy Las Vegas romance from bestselling author Heidi McLaughlin, a man who has it all reunites with a woman who takes it all off.

Living in Sin City, Finn McCormick is no stranger to one-night stands, but the last person he expects to find losing big on the casino floor is a former high school fling. Even though Macey Webster’s clearly down on her luck, she’s still a knockout, and she’s dressed like a stripper—because she is one. But when she blows her earnings on blackjack, her guardian angel is the rich boy who once stole her heart and never called her back. Although Macey would love to turn the tables on Finn, she can’t afford to refuse his proposition—and soon she’s enjoying herself much more than she cares to admit. Macey’s used to baring her flesh, but baring her soul will take far more courage.

My Opinion  5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Random House, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is your modern day pretty woman/cinderella story should one have them had a one night stand and had a child to look after from the age of eighteen.

Macey is a very hard working woman, down on her luck and resorting to working in a strip club to earn extra cash at night.

Finding herself in need of more cash she takes a colleagues advice and goes to work in Vegas for a week to earn the big bucks to help her get out of her mothers house.

Finn may be a multi millionaire, but with the right people he has a heart of gold, but can be ruthless when he needs to be.  As most alpha males he is on the cocky side and always get what he wants.

The story pulls at your heart strings at times and really cannot help but want Macey to get the HEA that she deserves as she proves how far she will go to protect her daughter and give her a better life.  That Macey is a a strong woman with courage and determination.

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

A white hot Standalone novella from USA Today Bestseller Lili Valente

"Leave the mask on, princess, but everything else comes off. I'm ready to see what's mine."

They say you don't know what you've got until it's gone, but I knew long before the day I said goodbye to Ivy Prescott that I was never going to find another woman like her.

Now, we're both six years older, and my sweet, innocent Ivy has become a sexy, irresistible woman.

She wasn't ready for me then, but she's ready for me now. Ready to learn all the wicked, wonderful things I have to teach her.

Her lesson will begin with a box. A box with a beautiful dress, a mask, and an invitation to come play with a man who has been watching her from afar...

A man who wants to master her--body and soul...

Warning: This sinfully sexy read features a Dominant alpha male who likes to play rough with his toys--but don't worry, he'll make sure you enjoy every scorchingly hot minute of it.

After breaking it off six years ago Edward is now ready to show Ivy what he really wants in the bedroom after having watched her from afar.

He wants just one night to show her how compatible he thinks they now would be together , now that her horizons have broadened.

This is a fast paced, dirty, fun read that sneaks a peak into the softer area of BDSM and has been artfully put together.

I read it in one sitting after not being able to put the book down.

REVIEW - Take Me Harder (Texas Bounty #3) by Jackie Ashenden

The Book
Release Date: 7 February 2017
Goodreads Link

An ex-con with a bad-boy reputation falls for his childhood sweetheart—a good-girl cop chasing a ruthless killer—as the Texas Bounty series gets steamier than the Lone Star State.

Rush Redmond never expected freedom to taste so bittersweet. He spent eight years in jail doing someone else’s time, and for what? As an ex-con, Rush can’t work as a bounty hunter like his brothers—not in Texas. Better to drown his sorrows with a stiff drink and soft curves. Too bad the temptation he craves is a redhead with a badge: Ava St. George. Once upon a time, Rush would’ve done anything for the sheriff’s innocent daughter. Now he’s fighting the urge to let her sweet-talk him into some trouble he can’t afford.

Even though she’s a cop, Ava knows that sometimes justice means pushing the boundaries of the law. To track down her mother’s killer, she turns to the man with the county’s criminal underworld in his little black book. The boy she knew is still drop-dead gorgeous, with panty-dropping charm as smooth as his smile. But his sculpted arms and the menacing gleam in his eyes scream “Don’t mess with me.” Yet Ava needs Rush more than ever—in more ways than one.

My Opinion 5 STARS
**My thanks to NetGalley and Random House, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the third book in the series, but could be read as a stand alone if desired.

This books focuses on Redmond brother Rush and cop Ava, both of whom we have seen in previous books.

I kinda had to feel sorry for Rush, sent to prison for a crime he did not commit, a father that seemed to hate him and to top it all his mothers death bed confession.  Its no wonder that he uses his sarcastic humour and distances those that he calls family.

Ava is a good girl, however she see's a deeper side of Rush that no one else seems to be seeing.  She can put side comments that she knows are only to help Rush cope and helps him like no one else has bother to so far.

She helps him out from the dark with her light persona, her strength and determination.

Its a friends to lovers book, with an eight year gap in-between and the same goal in mind.
