REVIEW - Christmas with a Prince by Noelle Adams

The Book
Release Date: 29 November 2017
Goodreads Link

I might be a former party girl and the over-indulged daughter of a multi-millionaire, but for the last few years I've been trying to be work hard and be good. I have enough right now to deal with--graduate school, my community literacy program, preparations for Christmas, and my dad's constant attempts to find me a husband. I definitely don't want to put up with Henry always hanging around, acting obnoxious and looking far too sexy.

My boss forced me to take on Henry as a literacy volunteer for the month of December. I don't know anything about him except he's from somewhere in Europe, and he's spoiled, entitled, arrogant, stubborn... and incredibly hot. He's the kind of guy I've been trying to stay away from. Plus he's got a secret--something he's hiding from me.

Now I can't think of anything but him, and I'm stuck with him until Christmas is over.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This is the last book in the series and is a really sweet read, but the lead man was a bit too soft and sweet for my liking.  Yes, he stood up for himself, but he was a little bit too sensitive for what i like too read.  April also fell a little flat for me, and she was always having trouble trusting herself and by extension those around her.

It was a light read, just like the rest of the series, it very lightly mentions god and gives a pleasant ending as expected with the rest of the books from this author.

It was a decent book, but i'm not sure that i would pick it up again in a hurry.

Some men are troublemakers or dealmakers. The men in my family? We’re baby makers.

For six generations, the women of wine country have had a saying: don’t bang a Hunter man unless you want a bun in your oven.

Yeah, well. I’ve got a saying too: no thanks. The last thing I need is baby makes three. My business is expanding and the only thing I’m interested in getting knocked up is my bottom line.

But then one night Emma Haverford makes me an offer I can’t refuse—she backs away from the land I have my eye on in exchange for a favor…

A big, fat, baby making favor…

******

When I hear women have gotten pregnant shaking hands with Hunter men, I know I need Dylan Hunter’s…ahem, special skills…way more than I need to expand my vineyard.

I’m ready to give my heart to a child and I’m tired of waiting for my late-to-the-party Prince Charming to make my dreams come true. So I promise Dylan—three months of hot, heavy, baby-making s-e-x and then I’m out of his hair forever.

But what if when it comes time to say good-bye, all I want to do is keep bottling up more memories with this big-hearted man?

This sexy Standalone romance will make you laugh, swoon, and blush baby-makin’ red. Heat level: A risk of getting knocked up during download. Paperback and audio versions are especially dangerous. Handle with care…

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule Publishing for an honest review**

This is the last book in the series and is a second change at romance story at which the couple split over a misunderstanding and not talking.

Celina has been in all of the previous books, however we only got to see a glimpse of Jack in the previous book as he talks to Ally Parker.

Both characters don't take long to reacquaint themselves, especially as Jack makes a point of singling Celina out and taking about the misunderstanding, he is also determined to get Celina back.

Its a light, sweet easy read without too much angst and quite a lot of romance and reconciliation with a good HEA.

REVIEW - Constant (The Confidence Game #1) by Rachel Higginson

The Book
Release Date: 16 November 2017

Fifteen years ago I met Sayer Wesley. I fell in love with him. I promised I would never leave him. I swore nothing could break us apart.

Five years ago I broke my promise. I ran away. I took the one secret that could destroy us both and disappeared.

Five days ago I thought I saw him.

I knew it was impossible. Sayer was locked away, serving a deserved sentence in federal prison. He couldn’t find me.

He wouldn’t find me. I was too good at hiding. Too good at surviving.

Because if Sayer ever found me, there would be hell to pay for a plethora of sins. The worst of which, he didn’t even know about.

Five hours ago, I told myself I was crazy.

Five minutes ago, I saw him again.

Five seconds ago, I was too late.

Wow, with a cliff hangar like that it is a great surprise that my kindle did not fly through the air and smash to pieces as i hurdle it from my bed late last night.  What.a.cliffhanger.ending!

This is not your average dark mafia read, this is a compelling, suck you in and spit you out book that quite frankly, leaves you shouting that it can't possible end like that.

Its  a friends to lovers book along with a second chance at romance as two individuals meet in a dark world, one brought up into it and one pulled into it.  Caroline (Caro) was only ten when she met thirteen year old Sayer when she was brought along to do a job by her father.  That day she saved his life by giving him some advice.

The book is written in the present with flashbacks to the past to give us a more rounded view of how these characters grow up together, how they finally get together, what pulls then apart and how they get back together, but, as things end on a cliff hangar, they do not quite have their HEA yet.

All the characters a well rounded and well thought out, even the supporting cast, and you can't do anything but hope that they too get some happiness too.  Will be waiting for the next book with baited breath.

Teaser

There were times in my life that I thought I wouldn’t survive. I stood at the precipice of death and peered over the edge. One misstep or ill-timed gust of wind and I would have tipped over, fallen down the black abyss and never resurfaced.
Sometimes when I looked back at those moments, those infinitely dark and twisted times, I couldn’t breathe. I would feel my heart shatter all over. I would experience the tearing, crushing, ripping apart of my limbs and muscles, my tendons and veins, my heart and my mind. I would forget how to breathe.
I would forget how to be.
Until I remembered him.
He was the one constant in my life that had pushed me through the darkness. He was the one constant in my life that loved me beyond everything else, beyond what I was or had been or could ever be. He wanted me to be better. He wanted to be better for me.
And yet he was as tangled in the madness as I was.
I didn’t have that life anymore. I had broken free and found something safe to build a foundation on. But I couldn’t remember the past without imagining his smile or his eyes, his touch. I couldn’t think about where I had been without thinking of where we were supposed to go.
Where he was supposed to take me.
Sometimes life doesn’t work out the way you plan. Sometimes circumstances change and sometimes they’re for the better.
But he was my constant then and he is the constant ghost that haunts me now.
I might not be with him.
But he will always be with me.

When Count Fredrik Jensson, head of security for the royal family, arrives to check out the village, he makes it clear that her past employment makes her unfit for the role. The fact that there’s a sizzle between them from the moment they meet only makes everything worse.

Forced together on a trip to San Michele for the official announcement of the wedding, their sizzle flares into an inferno. However, their night of passion sours when he sees her with her ex-boss. Believing that Ally is about to buy back her job with wedding secrets, Fredrik turns back to ice. What will it take to see the person she truly is and a thaw to set in?

My Review 4 STARS
**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule Publishing for an honest review**

As with the previous book, part of this book overlaps with the previous books, however we get new perspectives and the story goes a little further.  In this one we end with the wedding of Jonas and Hope from book one.

Ally is the other best friend of Hope who has fallen on hard times thanks to her morals and sleazy editor.  Fredrik first meets her scrubbing the kitchen floor or the local pub wearing rubber gloves, a pinny.  But Ally shows her quick thinking straight away along with her loyalty o her friend that she would rather incite gossip about herself that let go of her friends secret.

Fredrik and Ally are a great match, find themselves confessing to secrets either barley known or not known at all and are comforted and helped by the other with old hurts.

Cold seeming Fredrik soon starts warming up with Ally by his side, and Ally soon finds herself with something much more than a fling.

I can't wait to the end of the series when we get Celina's story.

When his sister Hope announces that she is going to marry a prince, Max is taken aback to discover that the royal wedding will take place not in stylish San Michele, but at their run-down family home, Hasebury Hall. Now Max has to fix up the manor, let royal and security officials have the run of the place… and find a suitable woman to placate a Crown Princess with an obsession over protocol.

Chef Flora Deare, Hope’s friend, is in charge of catering the royal wedding and has quickly taken over Max’s kitchen – not to mention the rest of his life. As a bridesmaid, Flora will be going to the official announcement of the royal engagement in San Michele too. Max is single, she’s single: why don’t they go together and keep the Crown Princess off Hope’s back?

Max has too much Mr. Rochester about him for Flora’s tastes and she’ll be returning to London very soon to reboot her career. Still, what harm can a little pretense do if all it involves is a glamorous trip to San Michele and smiling together at the wedding itself? Apparently, a lot… Soon, it’s hard to remember what’s real and what’s not.

**Copy Provided by Netgalley and Tule Publishing for an honest review**

Flora is one of Hope's best friends and we met her in the previous book and Max is Hope's rather grumpy brother, but then we can forgive him that with what he has been through.

Pushed together because of Hope's wedding and because Flora needs kitchen space they soon also find that they need a plus one for the wedding so decide that they should go as a couple to avoid matchmaking.

As with the first book in the series this is a clean yet sweet book in which our characters have overcome much to find their happiness.

Panties off, Kitten. I want a hell of a lot more than your mouth under the mistletoe tonight…

I’ve got a reputation for being a good man, a generous man, who does compassionate things with his fortune.

But tonight’s generosity isn’t about money. It’s about my hands, my mouth, my undivided erotic attention, and a set of vintage nipple clamps with Dakota Joy’s name on them.

The only woman I’ve ever loved isn’t going to be won back with glittering presents under the tree. She’s a submissive who needs to be reminded that I’m the only man who makes her blood hot and her body ache, that I’m the one who crashed through the walls around her heart and convinced her to kneel at my feet.

Getting snowed in at my abandoned hotel on Christmas Eve is a stroke of good luck.

What I do with that luck is sweet, sinful holiday magic…

We haven’t even gotten started, sweetheart. Tonight, I’m going to make you forget who you are, what you are, that you were ever anything but mine.

Jonas Revel is the Principality of San Michele’s super eligible Prince Charming–at least he will be if the family has its way. But Jonas has been paying his dues in the family high-powered law firm for long enough. He wants to live life on his own terms, and that does not include romance.

No commitments, no baggage, no regrets. This philosophy works for Hope until she takes a housesitting job in sunny, beautiful San Michele and has a fateful meeting with a handsome and intriguing man.

This is a sweet read that motors along fairly quickly, but is also fairly predictable.

Hope is currently living abroad in San Michele and has escaped her life back home in England.  She has travelled well and has picked up lots of skills and is getting better at learning languages, however she is currently dog sitting for a wealthy family.

Jonas keeps secrets that eventually lead to a breakdown of trust and Hope's broken trust issues.

The ending is good, the friends that Hope has are lovely, but somehow it felt a little flat for me.  Will be iterating to see how the next authors follow on with the story.

Another epic instalment into the paranormal world where vengeance is common, lust is always there and finding your mate is the norm.

Sasha is one of Saeeds head of security and since his turning and return with his mate, Sasha has decided that she needs some her time and goes out in search of some excitement, pretty much leaving her duties behind her.  It is following the excitement she craves that she first sees Ewan, a berserker trying to forge his own path.

Through the tether they soon find that things may not always be as they seem and that by trusting each other and talking to each other they are stronger and can accomplish more.

Both find a new sense of family and security that they never felt before, especially when it comes to being loved.  A new sensation to both of them.

I really cannot wait to see what happens next in the series and who will get a HEA next.

The raw, sensual vampire who enters her world is both a threat and an intoxicating temptation: No one has ever made Cerys feel the way Saeed does. But to claim their fate as soulmates, Saeed must first find a way to free Cerys from Rin. Is their desire worth the risk of certain destruction--and eternal doom?

My Review  4 STARS
This book continues on where the last book left off and focuses on the Vampire Saeed, newly turned and looking for his mate.

We meet Cerys, his mate who has been a slave of a mage for thousands of years and who has had her soul taken from her.  Saeed does what he has to to gain her trust and her love while aiding her in her escape and the retrieval of her soul.

The books are also getting more complex within the story they are weaving and the amount of characters that we are getting a POV from.  However it all merges to give a bigger picture in the world that the author is creating for our enjoyment.

This was another book that i just could not put down and i almost hope that the books just continue, however, i also want to find out what happens at the end of all things when it all pulls together.

I love this series.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book starts where the previous one left off and continues to both give answers and give you more questions.  It also pulls you in like a puppet on a string and you cannot put the book down until it is finished.

Being a Mimi Jean book, it will have you going through a wide range of emotions, it will have paranormal behaviour, alpha males, strong woman and a great supporting cast along with an element of mystery.

As with the first book, Stephanie is still hiding secrets, but so is James Rook, however it is Stephanie's secrets that eventually get her into trouble and leads us to another cliff hangar ending that has you pulling out your hair for the next book.

I really look forward to the next book to see how things will pan out and how the HEA will be gained.
